L’Oréal signs majority investment agreement for Medik8
L’Oréal plans to add Medik8 to Luxe while retaining Inflexion, the founder and current management.

L’Oréal Groupe announced a majority investment agreement for British skincare brand Medik8 on 09.06.2025 in Clichy, France. The transaction is intended to expand its Luxe division.
Inflexion will retain a minority holding. Founder Elliot Isaacs will remain on the board, and the current management committee will stay in place. L’Oréal also secured rights to buy the remaining minority shareholders out in full.
Brand and portfolio
Medik8 was founded in 2009 and was acquired by UK private-equity firm Inflexion in 2021. It specialises in anti-ageing skincare. The stake’s price was not disclosed; the Financial Times had reported a potential deal value of approximately €1 billion. L’Oréal’s share price was roughly unchanged when the announcement was reported.
L’Oréal’s existing Dermatological Beauty division includes La Roche-Posay, CeraVe, Vichy, SkinCeuticals and Skinbetter Science. That division generated more than €7 billion in 2024 revenue, rising almost 10% year on year and making it the group’s fastest-growing division. Medik8’s intended home is the separate Luxe division.

L’Oréal has expanded through several other beauty transactions, including the purchase of Aesop in 2023 and Korean brand Dr.G in December 2024. The group acquired a 10% Galderma stake and the Miu Miu beauty licence in 2024 as it broadened its portfolio. L’Oréal linked the Galderma investment to a strategy covering more of the beauty routine and addressing signs of skin ageing. Its expansion also targets demand for science-led skincare.
Luxe president Cyril Chapuy and Medik8 chief executive Simon Coble expect the partnership to expand the brand’s international reach. The brand sells through professional channels and online and offline retailers in Europe, with a growing US presence.

Closing and continuity
The agreement conditions include regulatory approvals and customary requirements. Completion was expected within the following few months. L’Oréal will consolidate Medik8’s sales from closing.
L’Oréal generated €43.48 billion in sales in 2024. The group’s international operations comprised:
- A portfolio of 37 brands.
- More than 90,000 employees.
- 21 research centres across 13 countries.
