Quarterly sales and standalone earnings

Nestlé India increased revenue by 20% to ₹67.88 billion in the second quarter of its 2026–2027 financial year, while standalone net profit rose about 36% to ₹10.27 billion. Demand for Maggi instant noodles and Nescafe coffee supported the performance. These quarterly figures cover the three months ended 30th September 2026.

Sales volumes grew at a double-digit rate during the quarter. Maggi expanded its reach in rural markets, quick-commerce platforms continued to grow, and KitKat and Munch gained new launches. Consumption tax reductions and selected price increases supported growth among Indian consumer-goods producers, alongside continuing pressure on their production costs.

Brands and input costs

Chairman and Managing Director Manish Tiwary identified inflation, especially food inflation, and higher commodity costs as challenges. Nestlé India is concentrating on product innovation and improvements, brand investment and cost management in response. Packaging, edible oils and agricultural commodities were among the sources of cost pressure facing consumer-goods manufacturers.

Nestlé India increased advertising and marketing expenditure by 46% in the September quarter. Its EBITDA margin was 23.8%, and standalone earnings per share reached ₹5.32. The quarterly release also sets out the company’s expectations for several key ingredients; these are forecasts rather than confirmed future purchase prices:

  • Coffee and wheat: expected to remain within a range.
  • Sugar and edible oils: stable at elevated levels.
  • Cocoa: volatile amid weather-related crop concerns.
  • Milk: seasonal strengthening, with easing expected as flush supplies arrive.

The preceding quarter

Nestlé India had announced its preceding results on 22nd July 2026, covering the quarter ended 30th June 2026. Total product sales then stood at ₹63.63 billion, up 25.4% from a year earlier, while profit after tax was ₹9.75 billion, up 47.9%. The EBITDA margin for that period was 24.2%, and export sales grew by 35.6%.

In that earlier quarter, all four product groups achieved double-digit growth. Powdered and liquid beverages completed a twentieth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth. Rural distribution touchpoints expanded, while sub-distributors adopted distribution-management technology. Nespresso added a pavilion in Bengaluru, extending a retail presence that also included Delhi NCR and Mumbai. These developments preceded the September-quarter results approved on 15th October 2026.
