Segezha Digital Solutions plans to sell production-management software to the Russian timber industry and is considering exports. Its industrial internet-of-things platform collects and analyses paper-packaging line data alongside closed foreign process-control systems. CEO Maxim Korolev said the subsidiary would first complete fault-tolerance testing and expand internal use. Equipping the group’s converting lines could take up to a year, followed by possible trademark registration.

Korolev identified potential to replace Siemens industrial controllers, presenting this as a market opportunity. Segezha Digital Solutions, established in 2023, is wholly owned by Segezha Group and develops software and manages its IT infrastructure. Its 2024 revenue was RUB 1.06 billion, broadly unchanged from 2023; net profit doubled to RUB 106 million. The commercialisation plans concern a platform still undergoing internal testing and rollout.

Preparing reference data for business systems

Segezha’s software programme also includes modernising the data used across its business processes. By 26th November 2025, the group had selected Norbit’s AI MasterData after piloting several products. The platform uses artificial intelligence, including large language models, to normalise and categorise reference data. The project covers information supporting processes ranging from logistics to finance.

Irina Kolotova, head of the data-management and analytics office at Segezha Digital Solutions, expected automation to reduce the labour required and improve data accuracy.

The planned implementation proceeds through defined stages, with quality and accuracy checks during processing:

  • Train the platform using Segezha Group’s own datasets.
  • Categorise data within selected classes using the AI algorithms.
  • Process the company’s complete nomenclature at the final stage.

Monitoring print quality on packaging lines

A separate production application entered industrial operation at three Segezha Group enterprises in Segezha and Salsk. On 4th February 2026, I-Teco introduced Vmx Dequs: PIS, developed by its Videomatrix business. The deployment combined that software with Alta-V’s AlVK-7000 hardware-and-software platform. The system compares printed images with a reference sample using colour and geometric parameters, providing monitoring during the production process.

The supplier specified detection of print defects down to 0.05 millimetres, with operator notifications and highlighted defect areas. Its stated application range includes paper, cardboard, polymers and metal. Videomatrix CEO Farid Nigmatullin described the installation as the product’s market introduction and emphasised integration with individual production requirements.

Extending inspection functions

Potential extensions include higher-resolution cameras, additional image analysis and control signals to adjust printing equipment.
